Smiling Headshot Expressions
Radiant, authentic and infectious as hell. With a headshot like this, you’ll have to hire a virtual assistant to monitor your DM’s. Hot Damn! These aren’t posed headshots but reactions. They only happen when I catch you off guard and push the button at the right time. Don’t ask how I do it. It’ll ruin the surprise.

Serious, a little savage, and just the right amount of intensity. These looks are a power move. You make hard decisions, but don’t lose sleep over them. Headshots like this work for a range of professionals but typically land well with people in finance, tech, legal and the entertainment industry.

Natural Headshot Expressions
Something
In Between
Comfortable, confident and approachable. The kind of expression that says you know your shit, but you’re not showing up with a stick up your ass. These headshots work for people who need to be both trusted and liked but don’t want to come off as too eager or excitable.

Portrait Photography Inspiration
Yes, I shoot more than just headshots. Portraits are where we step back from the tight crop and tell more of your story. Full body, half body, and everything that lives in that sweet spot between portrait and branding.

About Your Headshot Photographer
Hey, I’m Art, and
I’m obsessed
With Headshots.
Let’s get something straight. There are A LOT of photographers who “do headshots” or take “professional photos” in addition to 10 other things. Families, newborns, weddings… You name it.
My Oakville studio was built for headshots and headshots only. It’s where I’ve spent years perfecting one thing: how to capture an expression that earns trust in a tenth of a second.
I’ve trained with Peter Hurley and earned my Headshot Crew Associate status in 2024, putting me among the top headshot photographers worldwide and the top 10 in Canada.
I am obsessed with Marco Pierre White’s idea that “perfection is a lot of little things done well,” and that is how I work. Every detail in lighting, composition, and expression has come together perfectly, so your headshot helps people take you seriously.
If You Haven’t Noticed, I Love Talking About Headshot Photography.
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions.
Have a question that I haven’t answered? Send me a text at 905-616-6316. You should feel 100% confident in your choice to work together and I’d be happy to talk to you about anything on your mind.

The cost of a headshot in Oakville can vary significantly based on the photographer's skill and experience. Beginner photographers may charge as little as $75 for a session or less for. a handful of okay shots.
The minimum spend at my Oakville studio is $350 for one final image with most clients spending anywhere from 650-1700+ for a collection of images.

The outfits we choose for your professional headshot will depend mostly on usage and industry. Seasonality can also impact your outfit styling as well.
I always recommend that my clients bring all of their favourite pieces to the studio so we can have that conversation and style you on the spot.
It's impossible to overpack, but some things that people often forget to bring are:
Basic Tops: Plain, solid colour tees, tanks, fitted sweaters, camisoles etc. These can transform any look into something more casual and relaxed.
Prescription Glasses: One of my favourite style accessories! If you wear glasses and have options, bring them all. It's nice to play with different frames but it's also nice to have backup options if we are contending with difficult reflections.
Jewelry: For head and shoulder headshots, I advise against jewelry as it can be distracting. However, for portraits, it's all fair game!
Additionally, if it's in the budget, I work with some great professional stylists from Burlington, Oakville and Hamilton who I can refer.

You get to select and purchase as many images as you like at your session.
I shoot all portraits and headshots tethered. That’s just a fancy way of saying the shots in my camera go straight to my laptop so you can see them on a larger screen, in real time.
As we shoot, I mark the best photos so we can talk about what we see and what needs to be fixed before we continue taking photos.
After your session, we go through the list together to narrow down only the images you want to purchase
As much as I’d like to think I have the eye to find your best side, YOU are the one who gets the final say. But I an 100% there for you for recommendations and advice!

One of the things that I believe sets this studio apart from other photographers in Burlington and Oakville is that professional retouching is included with every image purchase. This is done by hand, not using filters, so I have the ultimate control and ability to fine tune how drastic the retouch turns out.
While I believe less is more when it comes to retouching, if certain things stand out in your headshot that you wish to have adjusted, we can discuss them during your session.

3-5 business days.
If you require a faster turnaround, let me know in your session notes at booking or at your session.
Images are delivered through an online gallery and sent to the email you booked your session with.

Headshots are a very specific type of photography that even a lot of photographers misname.
All professional headshots are portraits, but not all portraits are headshots.
A professional headshot should be taken close up so the focus is on the face and your expression, preferably taken in a studio on a plain background.
Within portrait photography, there are many other sub genres but the main distinction is that a portraits often, but not always pose the rest of the body. Some types of portraits may include:
Branding Photos (Environmental Portraits)
Business Portraits (Corporate Photography)
Glamour Portraits
Commercial Portraits
Fashion Photography
Beauty Photography
The list goes on! While I do offer portrait sessions along side headshot sessions, my philosophy is that while everyone may need a headshot, most people don't always need a portrait.
-
Most people hate having their pictures taken. I mean, they literally would do anything to avoid it. I get it. I'm one of them, which is why I got into photography in the first place….
It's hard to know what your face is doing when you can't see it. Truth is, the perfect shot exists in everyone and we WILL get yours. That's a promise.
Remember, your session length is flexible. I'm not here to rush you if we don't have to. We will shoot as much as we need for as long as we need and I guarantee we'll bring out an expression you didn't know you had.
-
I pride myself on offering a very specific and consistent style of headshot to my clients, but I also love colouring outside the lines. If you have a unique style of photography you love or need to match other headshots for your company or personal collection, send me some examples and I would be happy to accommodate your preference.
-
Absolutely. For some people, it makes the experience way more comfortable. But, you might want to warn them. I WILL try to take their picture!
-
As many as you need, no more and no less. Images are sold individually on-site after your session, and it is a guided process. That means you don’t need to spend a week sorting through 200 photos and feel overwhelmed making a choice, not knowing what to even look for. I will never sell you an image that I don’t think puts your best foot forward, and I won’t stop shooting until you get an image you are thrilled about.

This is a great option if you have a large team and something I offer for individuals and teams, large or small. If you are looking to have several people photographed in a single day, I do offer group sessions up to 12 people in studio with a reduced session rate or I can come to your location. Location fees apply.
